Course of

Rhinoceros for jewellery design

The world’s most widely used software for 3D gold and jewellery design has long been in the School’s programming. Rhino 3D was born for architectural and mechanical design. Thanks to its flexibility, ease of use and extreme precision, this software has also found application in the field of gold and jewellery design. The revolution? Designing objects with a PC or Mac that can be printed by rapid prototyping machines (3D printers) to obtain resin or wax models, ready for lost wax casting or mould making. We created a Course that would be as complete as possible, allowing our students to learn the using techniques of a three-dimensional design programme. As with all our other Courses, the programme flows through the simplest exercises up to the design of complex objects.

A certificate of attendance will be issued at the end of the Course program.

Program

Starting with the description of the programme interface, we will set out on a course that aims to provide students with the skills to create even highly complex digital models. The exercises will be performed together with the explanation of the main commands of the software, in a progressive form, according to their degree of difficulty, starting with two-dimensional design and moving on to three-dimensional ones. Various types of bezels, simple rings, trilogy rings, basket solitaires, fancy verettes, signet rings, earrings of various types, fretwork and interlocking; followed by pavetted bracelet with gallery and hinges. Simulation of real company-designer relationship situations.
