Course of

Microscope stone setting

For some years now, companies have been asking us to include Microscope Setting in our training program. This is a course that involves working no longer with the naked eye, but enhanced by the use of a high-magnification microscope. This allows a precision unattainable under normal conditions. Not only that, but the teaching also includes setting with the use of a sphere and pneumatic ‘Graver’ engraver. This evolution allows our students to aspire to the most advanced companies with the best preparation and performance.

A certificate of attendance will be issued at the end of the Course program.

Program

The Course includes preparatory exercises to become familiar with the microscope, the sphere and the pneumatic burin Gravermax. Once learnt the techniques for preparing burins (grinding and sharpening), the Course moves on to the various setting techniques: jaw setting and fitting of stones, setting and fitting of round, oval and rectangular wrought stones, pavé setting on real objects.
